Solution: Grape is rich in glucose (as well as its important derivative gluconic acid) and Vitamin C (Ascorbic acid). When it enters small intestine which secrete bicarbonated enzyme, strong alkaline salt are formed as below:

Alkaline solutions assist breaking down protein fibres to make the stool smooth and thus easy to egest.
